CHICAGO, IL - An online history class through DePaul university was the latest victim in a string of Zoom meetings crashed by the legendary Murray family. Led by Bill, the nine-sibling strong Murray clan has crashed well over 100 remote meetings during the stay at home order and has shown little sign of slowing down.

“We had only made it about ten minutes into our lecture on Charlemagne before our professor was interrupted by Brian Doyle Murray’s signature scratchy voice,” said Tom Stevens, a DePaul student caught in the Murray bomb. “Our professor did her best to ward off the Murrays, but I knew it was all over when Bill started singing the Star Wars song from SNL.”

Since the stay at home order began, all kinds of work meetings, remote family reunions and online classes have been interrupted by the legendary Chicago family. We spoke with cyber security expert Jane Hannity via Zoom to discuss how to best protect remote meetings, but were interrupted by the Murrays ourselves before we could get any useful tips.

“We’re bored and really good at crashing things, so it just seemed like the natural thing to do,” said John Murray before joining his siblings in reenacting scenes from “Caddyshack” and singing “Take me out to the Ball Game” loudly over our meeting.

While the interruptions have inconvenienced many, no one affected has tried to stop the Murrays from crashing anymore meetings.

“I think I speak for everyone when I say that I’d rather see Bill Murray and his siblings recite lines from ‘Ghostbusters’ than sit through a depressing online class.” said Stevens.
